Amazon has shut down their cloud storage platform Amazon Drive

Goodbye, Amazon Drive.

Amazon sent out emails on early on Friday early morning for Amazon Drive users to notify customers that it will be closing their cloud storage services December. 31st, 2023.

We take this opportunity to concentrate the efforts of Amazon Photos to provide customers an exclusive solution for photo as well as video storage, Amazon says in an FAQ.

Amazon claims that videos and photos stored in Amazon Drive accounts have been automatically transferred in Amazon Photos.

If you depend on Amazon Drive to manage your file storage, you’ll have to visit Amazon Drive’s website Amazon Drive website to download your files before December 31, 2023. Amazon noted.

Amazon Drive launched 11 years ago. It is a competitor to similar services by Dropbox, Microsoft, Box and other software giants.

Amazon will continue to operate Amazon Photos, which gives Prime members unlimited photo storage , and up to 5GB storage space for non-members.
