The game of guessing is on the way to the same extent as, a Seattle-based company that provides personalized recommendations for TV shows, movies as well as other entertainment.
The company announced Its Likewise Arcade on Wednesday as an extension of LikewiseTV an entertainment personalization hub that first launched in March in order for users to access the entire range of streaming television services from one location.
Additionally, Likewise has partnered with The 12:01 Games for a test of the understanding of movie and television fans through the Games moviedle, Posterdle as well as NFLXdle. The games consist of racing against time to determine a lightning fast movie replay, or a slow becoming movie poster or show posters on Netflix.
The Arcade idea is based on the popularity of playing and sharing that’s been gaining momentum with the advent of “Wordle,” and “Heardle,” games which have been partnered together with The New York Times and Spoitfy respectively. Also, it hopes its millions players will be sharing their expertise on television and movies with their acquaintances and offer additional information and recommendations on media.
Likewise debuted publicly in October of this year as the idea from Larry Cohen, the former Microsoft communications chief. Cohen is the chairman of Likewise and also serves as the chief executive officer of Gates Ventures, Bill Gates’s private office. Gates is the principal financier, with a commitment of $15 million into the company by the end of 2021. It is also managed by its CEO Ian Morris.
